IJC’s Statement Affirming Support for DACA Fellows

Since its inception, Immigrant Justice Corps (“IJC”) has recruited and trained talented lawyers and advocates who provide access to counsel to low income immigrants. We have recognized that many of the most dedicated and talented advocates have been individuals with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) status. IJC is proud to have several current fellows and alumni who are “DACA-mented.” Every day, these individuals bring their own experiences and exceptional talents to assist immigrants fighting deportation or seeking lawful status. Yet, in the current political climate, they face uncertainty about their own futures in the United States and have concerns about the possible revocation of DACA.

We at IJC are committed to standing with our DACA fellows through this time of uncertainty. We are committed to defending the DACA program and our fellows. If DACA is rescinded, we will work with our fellows to help ensure their personal and financial security. And most importantly, we at IJC pledge our support to all our fellows and partners that are working tirelessly to protect immigrant communities and advance meaningful immigration reform.
