Jonathon Burne

Jonathon is from Los Angeles, California, where his mother settled after emigrating from Honduras at the age of 18. Her difficulties navigating American society as a poor non-citizen inspired Jonathon to study borders and migration at Williams College. Having researched migrant rights in Mexico, South Africa, and Jordan, he brings an international focus to his advocacy work. Jonathon has interned at a Jordanian human rights law firm and helped create a community-based immigrants’ rights group at Williams College. As a Community Fellow, he provides immigration and translation services at the Arab American Association of New York in South Brooklyn.
