Cassie’s passion for serving immigrant communities is rooted in the immigrant experiences of her Paraguayan mother and Lebanese-Egyptian father. Before law school, she served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at Catholic Charities’ Cabrini Center for Immigration Legal Assistance. During law school, she interned at Bay Area Legal Aid, CAIR Coalition, and the American Immigration Council and volunteered with the CARA Project. Representing an asylum seeker as a clinical student at Georgetown Law inspired her to serve as an advocate for those fleeing persecution. Cassie represents asylum seekers in removal proceedings at Human Rights First.
