Tamara Anaie

Tamara’s commitment to human rights and immigration rights advocacy stems from her experience as an immigrant from Iraq. She has worked at the United Nations in multiple capacities and has a variety of direct legal representation experience throughout her work with KIND, IRAP, and the Rutgers Immigrants Rights Clinic. Tamara has also made it a priority to focus on the broader public policy implications of immigration law and traveled to Jordan to study and subsequently publish a policy report on the legal ramifications of the Syrian Refugee crisis and its legal and social impact on host countries. As an IJC Justice Fellow, Tamara will be working with the Center for Immigrant Representation, representing immigrants seeking lawful status, defense from deportation and asylum, as well as other forms of humanitarian relief.
