Jennifer Vega, J.D. (she/her) is a first-generation law school graduate and immigrant rights advocate. She graduated from New York Law School this past May. She has served the Latino and immigrant communities through direct legal services and through vocal advocacy for policy change. She has also served on the executive board of New York Law School’s Immigration Law Student Association and the Latin American Law Student Association. In her time at NYLS, she has worked with the Safe Passage Project through the Immigration and Litigation Clinic as well as successfully represented clients with the Asylum Clinic. She has also dedicated many hours of work for the NYLS pro se asylum clinic, with the goal of submitting 300 asylum applications in two months. She has also worked with the Immigration Team of the Neighborhood Defenders of Harlem assisting in the representation of clients facing deportation due to criminal offenses. In the fall, Jennifer will be working with Make the Road New York in the representation of unaccompanied minors in the Brentwood area of Long Island.
