Mo’s experience as a Mexican immigrant has greatly informed their commitment and work for racial, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ justice. While a student at the University of Chicago, Mo majored in Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies and Gender & Sexuality Studies, and was actively involved in multiple advocacy efforts for immigrant communities on the local, state, and national level. From mobilizing for the Dream Act to founding two different grassroots organizations dedicated to educational justice, Mo’s commitment to transformative and restorative justice is grounded in a commitment to community and humanity.
