Before joining the IJC, Enrique went to the University of Connecticut School of Law to study human rights. While there, he participated in the university’s Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, where he helped an Afghan asylum-seeker and Honduran asylum-seeker obtain grants of asylum. He also worked on other immigration matters, like work authorization cards, derivative asylum claims, and Temporary Protected Status applications. Now, as a Katzmann Fellow, Enrique will work with Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center in El Paso, Texas to continue representing immigrants who seek better lives in a new country.
