Alexa Laferte joined IJC in November 2021. Alexa supports critical fundraising functions that enable IJC to optimize efficiency, engage stakeholders, and grow IJC’s donor base. Alexa holds a B.A. in Gender Studies from CUNY Brooklyn College, where they focused their coursework on the socioeconomic impact of public policy and on LGBTQ political movements in the United States.
Alexa has been involved with organizations locally and nationally which seek to advance civil rights and liberties through litigation, public policy, and organizing. Alexa comes to IJC from Americans United, where they interned with the Development Team on fundraising initiatives which support the separation of church and state. Alexa has also interned with the Interfaith Center of New York and Met Council on Housing, volunteered with New Sanctuary Coalition, and served with AmeriCorps.
