Cindy became interested in immigration law because of her experience being in a mix status family. She witnessed the injustices undocumented immigrants faced firsthand and wanted to do anything in her power to help those who were vulnerable because of their legal status. These life experiences prompted Cindy to intern at the Intergated Refugee and Immigrants Services, the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project and the immigration clinic in the New Haven Legal Assistance Association where she was given the opportunity to work in various areas of immigration law. Now, Cindy will be placed at the New York Public Library-Mott Haven location.
