Dawa Lhamo is an immigrant who has both lived experience and exposure to the field of immigration law thanks to her previous position as a paralegal in boutique immigration law firms. She worked as a student attorney at the Immigrant & Non-Citizen Rights Clinic and IRAP while attending CUNY School of Law. Dawa also interned with Nationality for All, an organization in Nepal that advocates for people who are stateless and with Catholic Migration Services in NYC. As an IJC fellow, she will provide direct legal assistance as a member of the Northwestern Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) legal team.
