Doug Bartel is originally from Olathe, Kansas, and earned his B.A. and M.A. in French from the University of Kansas.  After his master’s, Doug joined Teach for America, where he taught and directed the ESOL program for four years.  Doug returned to KU for law school to become a fierce advocate for the refugee and immigrant communities of Kansas City.  In law school, Doug served as the Symposium Editor for The University of Kansas Law Review, and he is a National NALSA Moot Court champion.  As an IJC Fellow, Doug will work at The Asylum Clinic KC, representing unaccompanied minors.
