Prior to joining law school, Fatima founded a Legal Aid Bureau in Pakistan to provide pro bono representation to survivors of domestic violence. During her time at Harvard Law School, Fatima developed a deep interest in child welfare and consequently participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic. She externed at the Child Protection Unit in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office where she worked in a direct legal service setting on cases of child sexual abuse and physical neglect, advocating for basic children’s rights. Fatima is excited to join the Children’s Protection Project at National Immigrant Justice Center as a Justice Fellow to represent unaccompanied children detained in the Chicago area.
