Fatima comes to immigration law grounded in her own experiences as an immigrant from Pakistan. Prior to law school, Fatima worked as an Asian Pacific Islander Desi American community organizer with New Virginia Majority. During law school, she served as a student attorney with the GW Law Criminal Defense and Justice Clinic and interned at Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition, Bronx Defenders, and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild. Fatima will be joining Immigration Services & Legal Advocacy, where she will represent detained immigrants across Louisiana in their removal proceedings.
