Geovanny joins IJC after having a memorable summer externship experience at CARECEN. For his final semester of law school, Geovanny participated in his law school’s immigration clinic, representing indigent immigrant clients undergoing the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) process. This experience solidified his belief in the importance of legal advocacy for children, whom he views as deserving of every opportunity for a secure future. Geovanny will return to CARECEN in the fall of 2024 to join the Youth Immigration Project as an IJC Fellow to assist children residing in Long Island who entered the U.S. without a parent or guardian.
