James became passionate about immigrant justice in his early teenage years. James began assisting immigrants with their respective needs as an intern with both the Hispanic Federation and Make the Road NY in his undergraduate years. As a 2L, James was a student attorney for the Boston College Law School Immigration Clinic, where he represented noncitizens in their removal proceedings. James will be working for Make the Road NY in Jackson Heights as an IJC fellow and will be working on their Trans Immigrant Project, specifically handling gender-identity-based removal defense cases and employment discrimination cases.
