Before law school, Jessica worked on mayoral and congressional campaigns for Latinx candidates in Los Angeles county and later served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, where she collaborated with local farmers on sustainable agriculture. During law school, Jessica has been active in the Latinx Law Society and the Immigration Student Group. Jessica is a former fellow with Equal Justice Works Rural Summer Legal Corps, the National Lawyers Guild Haywood Burns fellowship, and the Lezak Social Justice fellowship. Jessica is passionate about immigrant and climate justice and will be working as an IJC fellow for Project Ishmael, a small pro bono legal clinic that is part of the First Grace Community Alliance in New Orleans.
