Jonathan is a first-generation Salvadoran American with a passion for advancing human rights and promoting the rights of asylum seekers. His inspiration for becoming an immigrants’ rights advocate stems from his own personal experiences living abroad in El Salvador, where he witnessed the many complex factors that lead to forced displacement. His prior work includes a clerkship with the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies, and participation in both the Immigrants’ Rights and Refugee and Human Rights Clinics while attending UC Law San Francisco. Jonathan will be working with Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project on removal defense, asylum, and SIJS cases.
