Joseph’s commitment to immigrant rights is rooted in his local experiences in community organizing, policy advocacy, and bridging resource gaps in immigration legal services, particularly in diasporic Chinese communities.

While at Rutgers Law School, Joseph represented detained asylum seekers at American Friends Service Committee and Rutgers Immigrant Rights Clinic. He has also worked at Rutgers Center for Immigration Law, Policy and Justice; NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs; and New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Joseph’s IJC Fellowship will be at Catholic Charities Community Services, where he will represent under-served immigrants in the Lower Hudson Valley.
