Kate was born and raised in Kentucky and attended Vanderbilt for undergrad, where she did research on a variety of immigration issues. During law school, Kate worked with the Immigrant Rights Clinic for two years, served as the Executive Director of the Duke Immigrant and Refugee Project, coordinated and volunteered for pro bono projects, and spent a summer at the Southern Poverty Law Center working with detained immigrants in Georgia. Kate is looking forward to taking her passion and experience to her justice fellowship at ILAP in Portland, Maine, where she will serve clients on a wide range of cases.
