As a daughter of immigrants, Kristin Mae went to law school to pursue a career in advocating for immigrant families. During her time in law school, she was a law clerk at a Siskind Susser, P.C, local immigration firm that focused on employment-based immigration. However, her experience as a student attorney at Mid-South Immigration Advocates reinvigorated her desire to seek justice and support non-citizen children and families. During that experience, she worked on asylum and special immigrant juvenile cases where she gained familiarity with various forms of humanitarian relief that may be available to children and families. Kristin Mae is excited to sharpen her skills and to become a better advocate. She will be placed in Dallas, Texas with the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas.
