Lauren Migliaccio joins IJC from The Bronx Defenders where she was an immigration attorney and Director of Training of the Immigration Practice. At The Bronx Defenders Lauren represented clients with complex cases in the intersection of criminal and immigration law. In her tenure as the inaugural Director of Training she created substantive and skills-based immigration trainings. Lauren received her J.D. from Vermont Law School. While in Vermont, she was a law clerk at the Vermont Defender General providing pro bono appellate defense and consulted on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. As a legal intern at Catholic Charities Communities Services, Lauren worked on the Unaccompanied Minors’ team representing detained juveniles in immigration court. Prior to law school, Lauren was an Americorps member and served in City Year Greater Philadelphia as an in-class tutor and mentor. Lauren graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science. Lauren speaks Spanish and German.
