After graduating from college, Liz worked with a Duke health research study for one year and then went to Nicaragua to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer for 27 months. There, she primarily worked on sexual and reproductive health and gender equality education. She went to law school to gain a more tangible skillset to serve vulnerable populations. In law school, she interned with the ACLU of Florida, participated in her law school’s criminal defense and immigrants’ rights clinics, and interned with Catholic Legal Services of Miami. As an IJC Fellow Liz will be placed at Catholic Legal Services in Miami where she will represent immigrants in removal proceedings.
