New York Public Library
John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Marian discovered her passion for immigrant advocacy and justice at John Jay College. She was a fellow for the Immigrant Student Success Center’s Peer Advocate Fellowship where she supported undocumented and mix-status high school students. At the same time, she interned at Safe Passage Project through ULAMP and Service Corps. There she furthered her legal translation and interpretation skills while gaining insight into legal proceedings, focusing on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. At her host organization, she hopes to continue expanding her knowledge on immigration law to better assist her immigrant community.
