In her first legal experience, Paola worked in housing at Bronx Legal Services, representing some of New York City’s most indigent residents in eviction proceedings. She later worked for her school’s immigration law clinic, representing clients in affirmative and defensive applications for relief, including asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile status. Both experiences, coupled with her family’s own immigration struggles, compelled Paola to work in this field. As an IJC Fellow, Paola is excited to join Building One Community, where she will represent clients in their affirmative and defensive immigration cases, while contributing to community-wide social and economic progress.
