Sherene was born in the Bahamas and raised in Belize. She graduated from Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica. Her passion for social justice was sparked while participating in the Norman Manley Law School’s Legal Aid Clinic, where she provided guidance to low-income clients on family law matters. Being an immigrant herself, she intimately understands the diverse challenges faced by immigrants. Of particular concern to her are the discriminatory impacts of immigration law on individuals of color. During her time at U.C. Law San Francisco, she actively engaged in the immigration clinic and interned with the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. Sherene eagerly anticipates joining the Immigration Center for Women and Children in San Diego, where she can contribute to supporting immigrant communities.
