Drawn to immigration work by the stories of her close friends, Stephanie began volunteering as an interpreter for Kids In Need of Defense, working with undocumented minors. That experience solidified her desire to empower immigrant communities through legal representation. While in law school, Stephanie worked on diverse immigration cases and projects through internships with Al Otro Lado, Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, Innovation Law Lab, the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic, and the Crimmigration Clinic. Stephanie is excited to join ImmDef as an IJC Fellow, where she will represent individuals facing deportation through Los Angeles’ pilot universal representation program.
