Uma completed her undergraduate education at UC Berkeley, studying Public Health and Economics, and law school at the UC College of Law, San Francisco, where she grew her passion for human rights law as a student in the Refugee and Human Rights clinic and as a law clerk at the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies. Uma is passionate about human rights, immigration policy, and migration theory. She will be working as an IJC Fellow at Catholic Charities of New York, representing asylum seekers in the Upper Hudson Valley and looks forward to being a legal advocate for underrepresented communities.
