Coming from a lineage of Arab American Muslim immigrants, Woorod felt the intricacies of the immigration system deeply ingrained in her family’s journey. This guided her to law school, committed to aiding those navigating immigration laws. With compassion and advocacy, Woorod aims to ease paths for refugees and seekers of opportunity. Through her work at her law school’s Immigration Justice Clinic, she weaves hope into immigrant stories, amplifying often unheard voices and serving underrepresented communities. This fall, Woorod will continue advocating for those marginalized through Catholic Charities of Newark.
