Growing up in the border town of Yuma, Arizona, Yessenia went to law school to pursue a career advocating for immigrants’ rights. Prior to law school, Yessenia volunteered as a child advocate with The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. While in law school, Yessenia has worked on asylum and cancellation of removal cases both as a Legal Intern at the Harvard Law School Immigration and Refugee Clinic and as a Legal Assistant at Lider, Fogarty & Ribeiro P.C. Yessenia is looking forward to starting her immigration career at FIRRP, where she will advocate for unaccompanied minors detained in Arizona.
