Aaliya Zaveri joined IJC in May 2022 as Project Manager. She previously worked at a boutique immigration law firm where her practice spanned a range of employment-based petitions and different forms of humanitarian relief. Among her speaking engagements, she has given talks on extraordinary ability petitions for artists and on humanitarian parole for Afghans.
Aaliya’s organizing work has centered around gender justice and queer liberation in South Asian and Muslim communities. She has served on the boards of the South Asian Womxn’s Creative Collective (SAWCC), Manavi, and MASGD, and is a co-founder of YKR NYC. She is a certified coach, trained by Coaching for Healing Justice & Liberation. Aaliya received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and her law degree from Fordham University. Born in India and raised in Hong Kong, she now makes her home in Brooklyn, NY.
