Before law school, Alex worked with immigrants facing deportation and affirmatively seeking asylum in Memphis, TN. Heartbroken by how the system failed vulnerable people, he resolved to advocate for low-income immigrants impacted by the criminal legal system. During law school he worked at Orleans Public Defenders, Bronx Defenders, Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic, and the Criminal Justice Institute. Alex has been privileged to advocate for and share the stories of clients facing intersectional immigration and criminal systems and is excited to bring that experience to Prisoners’ Legal Services where he will represent New York State prisoners facing removal.
