While at Tulane Law, Allison had the opportunity to practice immigration law with Catholic Charities. There she focused on providing legal services for unaccompanied minors, but also helped hold a workshop to assist adults in applying for asylum. Additionally, Allison worked with CrescentCare Legal Services aiding medically-complex undocumented children in achieving special immigrant juvenile status, a huge boon to their families after Louisiana expanded its Medicare program to cover children with approved petitions. She will be joining Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center at their Chicago office where she will be representing young people in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
