Andrew Freire will be representing unaccompanied minors as a Justice Fellow at the Immigrant Defenders Law Center’s children representation program. Before attending law school, Andrew maintained a visual art practice and worked alongside a language justice collective providing interpretation/translation in community organizing efforts. During law school, Andrew focused on issues impacting immigrant families in Los Angeles by participating in USC Gould’s Immigration Clinic, and its inaugural Housing Law and Policy Clinic. He is excited to continue working with immigrant communities in Los Angeles and learn holistic strategies to help minors feel supported and succeed in a new environment.
