Anjani’s passion for immigration defense stems from growing up as a first-generation American in a multigenerational immigrant household. During law school, Anjani interned at ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, The Bronx Defenders, and Sanctuary for Families. She was a clinical student at Brooklyn Law School’s Safe Harbor Immigration Clinic. She was President of Moot Court Honor Society and a Sparer Public Interest Fellow. Her Student Note titled “Protecting the ‘Unwanted’: How and Why We Should Defend Former Gang Members in Their Pursuit of Asylum” was published in Brooklyn Law School’s Journal of Law & Policy. Anjani will return to The Bronx Defenders as an IJC Fellow where she will work at the intersection of the immigration, criminal, civil, and family legal systems.
