As the daughter of immigrants, Brenda witnessed the fear and difficulties her parents faced in being undocumented for several years. Her family’s experience fueled her passion for assisting immigrants which led her to Michigan State University College of Law. Throughout her time in law school, Brenda has interned at Migrant Legal Aid and the Michigan Immigrants Right Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a Law Clerk working on immigration, employment, and housing issues. Brenda also served in MSU Law’s Immigration Clinic as a Student Clinician where she represented non-citizen clients in affirmative and defensive immigration proceedings. Brenda will be working for Catholic Charities of Central Florida primarily representing unaccompanied children in need of pro bono representation.
