Born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Cristian G. Gonzalez Perez came to the United States when he was eight years old. A Dreamer, Cristian understands the difficulties undocumented immigrants face in the United States. During his time at UNLV William S. School of Law, Cristian volunteered and helped over 100 fellow DACA recipients renew their applications. As an immigration clinic student, Cristian successfully represented an asylum detainee under the guidance of IJC fellow Paloma Guerrero. Cristian became a DACAttorney in 2022 after passing the Nevada Bar. As an IJC Fellow, Cristian hopes to continue where he left off as a student attorney, and represent unaccompanied minors with the UNLV Immigration Clinic.
