During Eman’s first semester at Berkeley Law, she assisted in filing Humanitarian Parole Applications for families in Afghanistan facing persecution in the wake of the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul. In the subsequent semester, she joined the California Asylum Representation Clinic, where she supported an LGBTQ domestic violence survivor seeking asylum in the U.S. As a 2L summer clerk at Pangea Legal Services, Eman worked with clients in both detained and non-detained settings, crafting a comprehensive guide for detained immigrants potentially eligible for relief under the Convention Against Torture. Eman is ecstatic to join the Social Justice Collaborative, where she will be helping prevent deportations of unaccompanied children.
