John’s dedication to defending individuals caught in our criminal justice system has spurred a strong desire to work at the intersection of immigration and criminal law. Before law school, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco. While attending Columbia Law School he participated in Columbia’s Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, and interned at The Legal Aid Society, New Hampshire Public Defender, and Neighborhood Defender Service. John works with Brooklyn Defender Services’ (BDS) Padilla, Youth & Communities Team, representing Brooklyn community members before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the New York Immigration Court, and in Family Court.
