Prior to law school, Mario was the ESOL Program Coordinator at Community Impact at Columbia University, where he organized free English classes for immigrants based in New York City. As a law student, he served as a Student Advocate at NYU Law’s Racial Justice and Family Defense clinics and began channeling his passion for immigrants’ rights through legal advocacy via internships with Safe Passage Project, and Brooklyn Legal Services. As an IJC fellow, Mario will be joining the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project, where he will represent detained immigrants in removal proceedings.
