The eldest daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Melinda is a first-generation college and law graduate who is passionate about advocating for immigrants’ rights. During law school, Melinda assisted asylum seekers as a student attorney with the Immigration Clinic and worked as the Clinic’s graduate assistant on the Work Authorization Defense Project. She has interned at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – AAJC, the Employment Litigation Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Sur Legal Collaborative. As a Justice Fellow, she will join the Orlando Center for Justice and will focus on assisting unaccompanied children.
