During her undergraduate years, Michelle was extensively involved with Asian and Asian American nonprofit and community spaces, where she engaged in community building, advocacy, and translation and interpretation. These experiences developed her interests in language accessibility and justice, immigration, and law as a tool to protect vulnerable communities. To further augment her language skills and cultural competency, Michelle conducted a one year language scholarship in South Korea prior to joining IJC. She is excited to expand her knowledge and abilities as a Community Fellow, and will be working in-house with IJC to serve the local NYC immigrant community.
