Before attending NYU Law, Olivia Abrecht was a youth organizer for four years at the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC), a grassroots community organization on the southwest side of Chicago. During law school, Olivia participated in the NYU Immigrant Rights Clinic for two years, spent her summers in Chicago working at the MacArthur Justice Center and Just Futures Law, and was on the board of the NYU National Lawyers Guild. She is looking forward to returning to Chicago to be a Justice Fellow at the National Immigrant Justice Center’s Detention Project and advancing their goal of ending detention.
