Torrey attended Brooklyn Law School with the express intention of practicing immigration law. During law school, she participated in pro bono projects with Al Otro Lado, CARECEN, Church World Services, and the Arab American Civil Rights League. She spent her 1L summer at the Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative at the Rutgers Immigrant Rights Clinic, and her 2L summer in New Orleans at the Promise of Justice Initiative. Torrey was also part of the Brooklyn Law School Safe Harbor Clinic. She is thrilled to return to CARECEN, where she will work in the Youth Immigration Program.
