Prior to law school, Vanessa served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with City Year Los Angeles and worked as a medical assistant at Planned Parenthood South Texas. During law school, Vanessa served as a student attorney in the Vanderbilt Immigration Practice Clinic, where she represented asylum seekers before USCIS. She also interned at Tennessee Justice for Our Neighbors, where she assisted with a variety of immigration matters, including U-Visas, DACA renewals, and SIJS applications. Vanessa is excited to join Church World Service, where she will represent unaccompanied minors in removal proceedings.
