Whitney Braunstein is excited to return to Immigrant Justice Corps as NYIFUP Senior Supervising Attorney. She first joined IJC in 2015 as a Community Fellow placed at the Brooklyn Public Library. Whitney now returns to IJC from The Bronx Defenders, where she most recently served as LGBTQ Defense Project Immigration Counsel, and previously as an Equal Justice Works Fellow.
Whitney received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern Public Interest Scholar and received the Vanderbilt Medal for outstanding contributions to the law school, the Eric Dean Bender Prize for commitment to public service, and the Law Alumni of Color Association Clinical Service Convocation Award. In law school, she participated in the Juvenile Defender and Immigrant Rights Clinics and interned at the New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice and the Center for Appellate Litigation. Whitney received her B.A. from Tulane University in Spanish and Portuguese.
