Ximena’s journey into immigration law is deeply rooted in her life experiences as an immigrant from Guanajuato, Mexico. Her relocation to the United States at the age of ten ignited her passion for social justice and equal representation for communities of color. Before law school, Ximena worked at three different private law firms assisting communities of color navigate complex legal issues. While in law school, she actively participated in the Immigration Clinic as a Student Attorney and undertook internships at both a private immigration law firm and the Fort Snelling Immigration Court. As an IJC Fellow, Ximena is enthusiastic to further her mission by providing legal representation to unaccompanied minors at the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center.
