Claudia’s family background and experiences as a Chicana have influenced her passion for immigration law. While an undergraduate student at UC Davis, she interned with the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center. Before law school, Claudia taught English in Madrid, Spain. Claudia interned with Catholic Charities in D.C. and Pangea Legal Services in San Francisco during law school. As a student attorney in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, she represented an asylum-seeking family of six before Hyattsville Immigration Court. She also represented survivors of domestic violence before the D.C. Superior Court, Domestic Violence Division as a student attorney in the General Practice Clinic. Claudia is looking forward to returning to California and joining United Farm Workers Foundation as a Justice Fellow, where she will be representing unaccompanied children.
