Mr. Zabel is the chairman of the board of IJC. He is also a founding partner of the law firm Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP and leads its Individual Client Services Group. He represents many of the wealthiest individuals and Foundations in the country and elsewhere in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts, charitable structures, income- and gift-tax planning, estate administration and family law. Mr. Zabel graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University and cum laude from Harvard Law School.
He is the Chairman of Human Rights First and is also a Fellow of Brandeis University, a Trustee of New York University and of the New School, and a Director of the Lincoln Center Theater and of the Academy of American Poets. He has received numerous honors including a Lifetime Achievement Award from The American Lawyer as well as an honorary doctorate from Yeshiva University (Cardozo Law School).
